I noticed that caldigit has an expresscard to bring in usb 3.0 as an option until thunderbolt is more available. Would it be wise to wait for a better selection of thunderbolt devices? Or should I grab a ( firewire)WD passport studio for time machine and start working with it. Yes, that's your backup and it should remain so, if you partition it and store other data there and the drive dies, you lose both. Do you need a separate external hard drive for time machine?
